RIZZIO VALVOLE S.p.A. (RIZZIO S.p.A. nowadays) being on the market since 1926 as a leader manufacturer of valves for naval, industrial and petrochemical fields and, in 80 years of activities, has successfully realized hundreds of plants for transportation of chemical, petroliferous and gaseous products.

Founded by Comm. Domenico Rizzio, RIZZIO VALVOLE has uninterruptedly developed, giving up in the years fields of lower technological importance since the actual situation, didn't failed also in the wartime satisfying all the industrial and Navy requests. In the Industrial reconstruction period have increased its products line paying more attention to the chemical and petroliferous fields. And are just these industries that have more appreciated its technical and quality perfection, thanks also to the son-in-law Mr. Piergiorgio Masso that has taken over in the management from 1970 and after, to his son Paolo, that from 1989 has developed a more and more international image.

The manufacturing of exclusive and patented products, the flexibility in the customer services, the Quality Certification ISO 9001 achieved with Det Norske Veritas, 80 years of professional activity, are the result of continuous researches, of considerable and endless investments in new and advanced technologies and in human resources.

Latest we would like to remember :

- more than 500 systems for chemical and petrochemical products transportation realized in our history some of them with remote control systems even for ICE CLASS IMO I ships.

- the innumerable patents and realization aimed to the differentiation of the products both in tri-dimensional machining and in alternative material fields.

- new Valve Network system developed in concurrence with Technical and commercial team-work with APSS in Diano d'Alba (Italy) and Valmarine in Drammen (Norway), leader companies in automation fields.

- 80 Computerized Valves Remote Control Systems supplied in the last ten years for Chemical Carriers, Tankers, Tug Boats and above all Cruisers.

RIZZIO S.p.A. is undoubtedly an innovative company as it has abandoned its prestigious brand of RIZZIO under which it has been a leader for over 80 years in designing and manufacturing high-quality industrial and naval valves, being some excellent products of which still in its product range, and started in the years 2000 a process of technological development aimed at manufacturing Valves Remote Control Systems both of traditional centralized type and with field-distributed electro-hydraulic micro power packs.

Thanks to the background provided by companies leaders in ship automation, it has established engineering and production synergies with them aiming at manufacturing high quality systems in compliance with M64 IACS Req. 2003 new regulations that put the "Single Failure" concept at the basis of the "Design of integrated cargo and ballast system of tankers".

RIZZIO S.p.A., an untypical company in marine engineering, does not aim at becoming one of those vendors which make post-manufacturing activity their core business, but it bases the "hard core" of its know-how on prevention and immediate acquisition of any functional anomalies in order to minimize the effect of a possible damage or completely removing it providing the operator with suitable corrective measures before the malfunction becomes a definitive failure.

We design according to the requirements of client's standards and specifications. We carry out calculations and MTBF modelling by testing the product to acquire and record its lower and upper functional limits, keeping our construction standards in the top certification bracket.

The reduction of extraordinary maintenance current costs, disproportionate supply of spare parts and continuous request for Service Engineering, but also risk reduction are the objectives that we meet through the integration of automation and hydraulics in a proved auto-diagnostic process for damages monitoring, in a "fault tolerant" design that does not allow that a "single failure" could make the system operation vulnerable. For us "redundancy" is not a lexical definition, but a operative instrument ranging from the hydraulic power pack and its monitoring to the prevention of pipes leakages and the certification of valves remote position: double serial BUS, Master and Slave interacting electronic cards provided with double microprocessor, double 230 Vac and 24 Vdc power supply, two nitrogen pre-charged accumulators, two 10-micron delivery filters with clogging alarm, double pressure reducing valve for oil delivery, double return filter, double volumetric position indicator Vol Oil able to measure flow rate and direction, besides other 30 parameters and continuous monitoring of events in every point of control!

And we are already looking ahead: we are building a bridge between the past and future of valves controls under which cruisers and fishing boats, yachts and navy ships will pass in compliance with all safety, antipollution and single failure requisitions that we hope will enter into force at short for safeguarding environment and sea as well.
